Quintessential Paris….

I couldn’t come to this city and not go to Chanel, it would be like going to Rome and not seeing the Colosseum or visiting New York and not seeing the Empire State Building.
Because you see to me, Chanel at 31 Rue Cambon is a landmark of Paris, being the flagship Chanel store and the building housing Gabrielle Chanel’s private apartments.
As she is lauded with revolutionising the way women dressed in the first half of the 20th century it is somewhere I think is worth a visit to get a sense of what shopping and fashion is like in Paris.
Plus, you all know I love Chanel!I only picked up a few accessories, every time I come to Paris I buy a little something from the shop so I have a souvenir to take away with me.

We then headed back to St Germain where we are staying and cosied into a little bar for a bowl of soup and a glass or three of wine. Perfect day in Paris.
I am off tomorrow to the Marche aux Puces de St Quen which my little pocket guide tells me is the largest flea market in Europe, housing 2500 stalls. That is like shopping Mecca as far as I’m concerned so if I go missing for a while it’s safe to say I will probably be lost amongst Parisienne vintage clothes…..no need for a search party, I’ll be fine……
