I was invited to visit Hansel while I was in Singapore, a local label run by the gorgeous Jo Soh. A local star in her own right I was curious to meet her but our timetables clashed so I’m now planning on my next trip to Singapore for a cocktail or two and perhaps a little interview.
I did however get time to take some photos and yes you are looking at what you think you are: the walls are all hand drawn by Jo herself. The shop is full of quirky little details and of course the black and white fed straight into my aesthetic and love of all things graphic.
Definitely worth a look when you are next in Singapore if you are tired of the endless shopping malls and homogeneous shopping experiences on offer. I know that independent designers are still something emerging as a concept so to see Jo’s success in such a short amount of time is really exciting.
