High St Armadale

just adore High St Armadale here in Melbourne, the shopping is to put it quite simply, superb. I took my camera with me yesterday and happened upon all sorts of divine accessories and homewares, but just when I was getting into the swing of things it started to pour. And I don’t mean a sprinkle of rain, it poured down.

It means I don’t have photos of all the fabulous places I visited, my amazing lunch at Spoonful or the ‘Celebration’ cake from Phillipa’s where the recipe for the icing is strictly kept a secret. Believe me in the interest of my readers I tried!

Here is a little token of my day out however…

Simba sits outside Carina Sherlock most of the day I was told. I’ve never seen one before but he’s a black Pug, not a Boston Terrier as I first thought. He was sweet, enquiring and honestly for a dog lover like myself the best marketing you could ever sit outside a shop.

I wanted to buy this entire table. All of it. Luckily you can shop online…….

Extremely well know, extremely old and extremely beautiful Kings Arcade.

It was raining by the time I got down in Market Import so I didn’t get my camera out but I did find time to shop. Of course. Their signature  I suppose is that they wrap everything in brightly coloured tissue paper and finish it with raffia. I always, always ask for what ever I buy to be gift wrapped. If I’m asked, ‘Is this a gift?’ and it’s for me I still say yes. There is nothing better than getting home with an empty bank account to at least a bag full of pretty treats no?
Montreuxsadly don’t have a website at the moment but the link is to the map where you will find delightful homewares and gorgeous accessories and scarfs.

The mirror and these milagro’sare from Market Import and there was just no way I could walk out of the shop empty handed. I’ve learnt that milagro in Mexican literally translates to ‘miracle’ or ‘surprise.’ Religious folk charms that represent different parts of the body amongst other things, you can buy them almost anywhere in Mexico.

I bought this necklace from Montreux for all fo $30. I’ve already re-attached some of the coins to my other bracelets.
