Winter Shopping Inspiration: Wardrobe staples

EDIT: I didn’t put the stockists and all the prices because I didn’t want it to look like a big fat ad. Which it isn’t. But as I’ve had requests would you mind for it to be included? Leave me a comment and I will compile the info if things are heading towards ‘yes.’ LM xx

So I’m seeing a stylist for the first time EVER on Saturday as part of a project I’m working on with Westfields(plenty more blog posts to come!) and I thought I’d take some pictures along of things that I feel are staples and need updating in my wardrobe.

I figured that good quality boots are something that you can’t scrimp on but I added in the ankle studded platforms from Payless for $49 as an on trend piece that wouldn’t break the bank.

I don’t own a leather skirt but saw a few at fashion week and this one comes in at $129 so I thought that again, it’s not going to be too much of a stretch if it’s just a winter trend.

I don’t have a good pair of dark denim(every thing but) and I do like the look of these pointe jersey pants from Witchery. A nod to military without being too obvious I thought?

I also thought it would be grown up of me to own a white shirt for once in my life, but thats the one item I’m thinking could be replaced with something more colourful that pops.

What say you?

  1. Ok… so I just read the newest post about you shopping at Westfield and you dont actually say where you can buy these items from? Desperate for the cream peacoat!

  2. Details are coming in a post later this week plus what I actually bought.

  3. Oooh love these items!! Yes, please post details!! In particular, the cream peacoat, the black knee high boots, the jeans and the white shirt.

  4. Get onto the sheer look before it becomes to mainstream everyone 🙂

  5. I would love to know where some of these items are from, particularly the jeans, the white shirt, the flat tall boots, and the leather skirt!

  6. I just had a gorgeous leather skirt made very similar to the one pictured. I wore it to LMFF Friday and feel it will be on major rotation for the next few seasons. Love.

  7. Would to know where the cream cardi is from? (top right hand corner…)

    thanks!

  8. Payless is so good for those ‘must have’ shoes that aren’t going to be around next season. I bought a pair of heels from there 3 years ago and they’re still going strong.

  9. a lady always needs a good pair of leather boots! I rather pay top dollar for leather boots that I know will last forever and for many years of winter.

    Love Ms Stef

  10. the heel boots are good! Seen them on LMFF quite a number of times. not exact ones but similar design and shape.

And leather skirt is a must!

  11. Lady!
