Beauty Week: Hair at home

As mentioned in my previous post, I am extremely lucky in that for events and when I need a killer ‘do,’ I have Oscar Oscar to help me out. Otherwise, my everyday hair or what you see on the blog here is done by yours truly. I’ve had all sorts of styles and colours over the years, but since 2003 I haven’t coloured my hair and I can honestly say I don’t think I ever will again.

My general hair routine is thus:

Wash every second day
Brush every day
Trim or haircut roughly every 6-8 weeks to keep things healthy.

I like things to be unfussy and natural with my hair so that it looks healthy and sort of effortless as an everyday look. I can’t stand the thought of bleaching or extensions but I have had plenty of colour in my hair before, just pre-blog days. I worked for a major beauty brand(who shall remain nameless obviously!) as a hair model and had so much colour and treatment that my hair started to fall out. Thats why I stopped colouring my hair really, it was supposed to be temporary but I just never went back and now its healthier than ever.

I have naturally dead straight hair so (shock, horror!) I don’t own a straightening iron of any description. Not one. I have a large barel ceramic curler that I use on occasion to create waves, but as my hair is heavy they tend to just drop out anyway. I guess in a way it cuts out using heat treatments, repairing products and a whole range of styling products too.

This is what I use in an alternate fashion to keep it in shape:

Shampoo and Conditioner

I don’t know whether its good or bad for my hair but I like to alternate my shampoos and conditioners. It works for me I suppose!

Treatments

Styling

I try to keep it as simple as possible as you can see!

And now onto some memorable hair moments on Lady M…

For some reason this hair style was super popular when I posted it last year. It’s cute but I probably wouldn’t wear it every day.
