Two things stood out for me at the parades on Day 3 of RAFW yesterday: white and fluro. I was particularly taken with Magdalena Velevska’s take on razor sharp pleats and folds in an array of fluro pinks, oranges, white and black. It was strong, bold and impressive, not to mention wearable.
Michael Lo Sordo was another stand out on the jam packed agenda showing gauze like silk and chiffon gowns, pants and tops delicately put together. The fine silk had a fragility that Lo Sordo was able to harness and parlay into pleating and expert tailoring which showed just why he deserves his own show on the RAFW agenda.

The designs are gorgeous, but the model in the last post scared me! She looks so skinny. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the “skinny” trend and what place you think it has in fashion?
I agree completely with both of you- its been kind of a shock to see it this week but also kind of welcoming? It’s hard to articulate. While I might not wear it myself, on the catwalk it’s such a delight to watch. Whether people take to it or not is another matter entirely. But I have seen it worn here in hand bags, clutches and even before I left Quick Brown Fox in Flinders Lane had a selection of fluro ballet flats for like, $29 or something. Get on it!!
I’m a bit worried about the fascination designers seem to be having with orange. It’s like the friend that lingers to long after the party is over. Orange for accessories or trims is fine, but in large doses can leave you looking like a pumpkin. But on a happier note I do love the bright colours that are coming through. I’m so bored with black. x
I was a little concerned when I saw your twitter about fluro coming back, but these are super cute! much more fruity than highlighter.
