It seemed a perfect day for a milkshake…

It truly felt like the perfect day for a strawberry milkshake when I woke up this morning. I think I was thinking of it when I pulled on this skirt that I picked up at the Episode garage sale earlier in the year. Fill a bag for $20- heaven! I still haven’t worn everything I bought on the blog because some of it is summer gear.

I realised also when I bought this skirt that I don’t own any pink clothing. Like yellow, orange or brown it’s just not a colour I ever even consider when I’m shopping. Hot, fuschia pink is very on trend at the moment but as it is just that- a trend- I’ve avoided buying in that colour. Is there a colour that you avoid at all costs, or simply don’t know how to wear? Perhaps I’ll find the perfect hot pink mini skirt or cropped blazer at an op-shop and I can try it out before I invest any money I may regret at a later point in time.

What I’m wearing:

Bodysuit with silk sleeves: Violet & I
Vintage skirt: Episode garage sale
Wooden clog/platforms: Wittner
Belt: Etsy
Satchel: eBay

That skirt is gorgeous, and yes, very “strawberry milkshake” :) The colour, length, and the pockets make it PERFECT.

The skirt is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t really wear orange, that’s probably about it. Although I do own a fair amount of pink – more in blush tones than fuchsia!

    Sing along….

    “Sunday, Monday – happy days,
    Tuesday, Wednesday – happy days,
    Thursday, Friday – happy days.

    The weekend comes,
    My cycle hums,
    Ready to race to you.”

Loving the ensemble and how you can bring glam to any outfit.

LadyM that skirt length is really unflattering for your shape, makes your calves look quite chunky, cute concept though

I love the skirt and it gives you such a fun vintage twist!

Pink is one of my favorite colors but I own only one dress and a pair of gloves in it. Defiantly inspired to seek out more.

I think brown is about the only color I actively avoid…

I think you look gorgeous as always, I’ve started reading your blog because you come across as a body confident, very beautiful, gracious, and stylish woman. I don’t think your calves look too big in the skirt (re: above comment), the colour of the skirt is lovely, and your figure looks great, great silhouette!!

This look is so sweet, you’re killing me!

Must say that I don’t have a colour that I *don’t* buy as every time I start making such a rule, I end up finding something *perfect* in that exact hue.

Like fuschia pink was something Mum inflicted on me in the early 90s and I said NEVER again! Then I found me some matte fuschia lippy…then a strapless fuschia cocktail number and most recently a frivolous fuschia jumpsuit so I’m telling you – don’t ever say *never*! xx

That belt is just so unique, I love it!

As for colours I don’t buy…I shouldn’t buy grey marle, it washes me out – but I have a wardrobe full of t-shirts, singlets and sloppy joes in grey marle – go figure!

I recently bought a fushcia pink blazer from Zara and every time I wear it I get loads of compliments. The problem is that I don’t feel comfortable in it and have been undecided whether to just sell it on Ebay for quite some time! Perhaps it will be more appropriate in the Australian summer…in London it just doesn’t feel right. NHG x

    Hi gorgeous,
Where are those sunnies from? They remind me of the ones Miranda Kerr wore with the frilly dress that was splashed around the blogs a few weeks back.
