Paperself Pony eyelashes from Miss Fox

Upon a recent visit to Miss Fox I was shown the latest collection from Paperself lashes from London. Wondering where on earth you could wear the horse version it quickly became apparent that the races was the perfect occasion.

Victoria of Miss Fox offered to have me in ahead of my VRC Spring Racing Carnival luncheon at Flemington yesterday to have my hair and makeup done and to trial the Paperself lashes. Surprisingly I don’t have my hair and makeup done very often so my inner control freak alarm bells started to ring(!) but I can safely tell you this: Luna the resident hair and makeup artist is truly that, an artist. Her work was done with such precision and perfection I would absolutely recommend a visit if you have an event. My make up was luminous and her handiwork on my winged eye liner left me wishing I had her on hand every time I try to do that look myself.

Let’s not forget the hair of course! My only idea was ‘volume’ and as Luna has spent time working on shows for Dior in Paris (to drop just one name) I left the look in her capable hands. Given my dress had a 70’s feel she said that soft volume with a nod to Bridget Bardot with a side part, a little backcombing and a low pony tail would be the ticket.

I absolutely floated out of there feeling so amazing after the makeover, and even had people stop me in the street to ask about my lashes. They were a real talking point at the luncheon as well so if you have an event and want to really make a statement I would suggest a visit to Miss Fox to get your make up done.

Thank you kindly Miss Fox for making my day so special!

These were the lashes chosen for my look but they have a whole range to choose from, not just horses.

The ‘before’ shot.

I absolutely loved this look from Sass & Bide presented as part of the show for spring racing carnival looks.

Anthony Capon who won the Fashions on the Field desginer award. I’m not a fan of black at the races, but Anothony’s work was superb.

I bumped into my friend Leeyong who made her entire outfit except for the shoes. One exceptionally talented lady!
