Today I was invited to visit the Schweppes Cube bar at Southern Cross Station that’s set up as part of the Schweppes Cocktail Revolution Station Domination. You may remember from my post last week where I shared a delicious cocktail recipe for a Tom Collins discovered on their website and gave you the heads up that I’d be blogging live from the Cube Bar today.

So what happens when you get here? Aside from the fact that you’ll be greeted by two rather dapper looking staff behind the bar( I could have worn the bright yellow braces in a heart beat) the experience is really all about interacting with fruit and a Schweppes product of your choosing to create a unique cocktail. Take a look at my experience below:

Step 1: Choose your fruit. Once you pop it on the interactive screen by some form of technological magic it senses what you’ve chosen and lights up the screen telling you which fruit it is.

Step 2: Choose your Schweppes drink. In my case it was Agrum and when it touched the screen just like with the fruit it knew what I had chosen and lit up.

Step 3: You are then given a cocktail with the key ingredients of your choosing. You get a goodie bag with the key ingredients so you can then make it yourself at home. Easy!

But your experience isn’t over just yet…

There are cameras and screens set up with an augmented reality experience where your photo is snapped while you ‘drink/swim/catch/lap up’ a suggested cocktail. In my case it was a ‘Flemington Fling’ which is just perfect considering the Spring Racing Carnival is just upon us.
