Frocktober Day 2: At the races

I’ve had a really lucky weekend to kick off Frocktober– it’s been full of events where I would naturally wear a dress and the races is certainly no exception. I find that I usually start to struggle a bit a week or two in(you know the days where you just want to pull on a pair of jeans and be done with it) but by the end of October I’ve forgotten what its like to wear a pair of pants!

I digress, yesterday I was invited to attend the Westfield Doncaster Styling Suite at Turnbull Stakes day which is a preview day to kick off the Spring Racing Carnival here in Melbourne. You all know I’m a fan of dressing for the occasion so as it was cool with the possibility of rain I went with long sleeves but made sure I was wearing something nice and bright. This is one of my favourite dresses, I haven’t owned it for very long considering I tend to hold on to things for years even if I don’t wear them anymore. It’s pure silk and as it’s a block colour I find it really ‘easy.’ But I’m not alone I’m sure- you must have a go to dress that makes you feel fab when you wear it?

This post is also a first for Lady Melbourne- I have never done a post with photos taken on my phone, but as I discovered when I dived into my bag to fetch my camera yesterday I had left home sans SD card. The day HAD to be photographed however so I thought I’d snap away on my phone(its a HTC Incredible S and I love it almost as much as my Mac Book. Reminds me of this video) and if the photos were good enough I’d post them.

Considering the size of the tiny lens I am amazed at how well these photos turned out.
