Vintage dress from Melbourne Vintage

So trundling down Tierry St on my way to buy lunch at the Queen Victoria Market during a recent jury duty escapade, I stumbled upon Melbourne Vintage. Or Fashiondacci. I can’t quite tell via their FB pages, but none the less the shop is a TREASURE TROVE and I almost didn’t want to tell you about it so I could keep it all to myself.

But sharing is caring, and you dear reader, I care about. Well your fashionable shopping habits anyhow!

I digress, it was days out from the Caulfield Cup and I had  nothing to wear (read: a closet full of dresses that aren’t brand new) and a pair of earrings caught my eye in the window of Melbourne Vintage.

Upon entering I immediately felt as though I was in a shop in Hong Kong off Granville Rd. It’s crowded with clothing and accessories, many of them one off pieces. You may recognise these leather, gloves from my Instagram feed purchased on the same day.

Anyhow, overwhelmed with all the bloody GOODNESS that I was discovering in every corner of this shop I spied this vintage dress. They stock the most eclectic collection of new and vintage and this was hidden on a rack brimming with dresses and blouses. I knew that my Brett Morley head piece was going to be purple and not wanting to throw away a purchase on a dress I might wear just once, I thought that I could get plenty of wear out of this little beauty whilst picking up on the colour purple subtly featured in the dress.

I do plan on featuring the actual shop on the blog, but if you so wish I recommend a trip, specially if you are near the Vic Market. IT”S FANTASTIC!!

These are a collection of some of my favourite necklaces at the moment: the two pale green jade pieces were purcahsed at the Jade Market on my trip to Hong Kong earlier in the year.

The amazonite and pearl necklace is from a Melbourne based jewellery label called Zabe. I’ve met Sharon the designer behind the label I’m so thrilled to tell you that I have some lovely things lined up that involve you winning some of their beautiful jewels. This particular necklace is a one off piece made specially pour moi, but Zabe can do that for you too. Stay tuned folks!
