Hola! I’ve been following your blog for a long time now and finally got the bravery to go ahead and give you a shout out from Lubbock Tx! Just wanted to say keep up the good work!

  • Liz B

    1. Always keep learning, growing, pushing your boundaries.
    2. Be in communication.
    3. Send thankyou notes.
    4. Only publish on social media things that you would be happy to see on the front page of a national newspaper.
    5. Tell someone you love them every day.

Thankyou for your lovely contribution to the world Lady M! xx

  • Karla Mac

Thank you for your kind words Lady Bracknell x

  • Courtney

It’s so hard to choose only five…
    1. Honesty
    2. Compassion
    3. Work Hard and Be Organised
    4. Find the balance of fun and class.
    5. Learn from your mistakes. Try to make yourself and the world better every day.

I want to add so much more like love your family, listen, read, cry, eat healthy, eat unhealthy (sometimes), be clean, be messy (sometimes), travel, spend time with positive people, create, learn, say nice things, always use good manners, laugh and laugh and laugh, be GRATEFUL!

  • Sarah

    Definitely the abbreviated version!
1#: Push your limits in everything you do.
2#: Give and expect nothing in return.
3#: Don’t frown when you’re feeling down, think of the glass as being half full.
4#: Wear what you’re feeling; sequins, bold colours, chunky accessories and mood-setting lipstick.
5#: Family commitments always come first.

  • Not in any particular order but just want comes to mind…

    1. Friend and family time is precious, sure, work deadlines can exist, but most of that time, that email you were going to send at 8pm can be sent the next morning

    2. Be yourself, and don’t be afraid to stand out a bit in doing so.

    3. Eat well. Eat good. Drink good wine. You have one life to live and many opportunities to fill it with many many tastings.

    4. Look after your body, again, deadlines exist, but get up half an hour earlier just to squeeze in a little run. My day’s are sluggish without a bit of outside air!

    5. Be kind, smile, think positively as often as you can. The days are far more enjoyable for it!

  • Tracy Boulter

    1. Think before you speak, don’t just react.

    2. Listen to the quiet voice within for guidance, it will never let you down.

    3. Don’t judge others as you will surely find yourself wrong.

    4. A smile and a friendly word costs nothing, it can save a life.

    5. Live in the moment and try to look on the funny side of life

  • Robyn

    1. Treat others how you wish to be treated.
    2. Always be yourself – it is exhausting trying to be something that you are not.
    3. Admit mistakes – its how you learn from them
    4. Always do your best, even if its something you are not good at.
    5. Drink good wine, Life is too short to drink bad stuff!

    🙂 xx

  • Linda

    1. Make mistakes. We are not born perfect. We can improve and learn from our mistakes.
    2. Smile every day. It’s not that much of an effort to make someone else’s day brighter and you’ll receive a smile back!
    3. Treasure what you have. Remember when you are being served for dinner that you are fortunate to have something on your plate.
    4. Give and be generous. Donating and helping out others will make your life much more happier.

I hope my life rules are able to help inspire others!

  • Linda

Abiding to moral and ethics values.
    – simply, this means if you respect others, others will respect you. Doing what is right and knowing what is wrong.

This is what I live by, which keeps me happy every day.

  • Shannon

I don’t know if this is the order I would put them in, but I’m at work right now so probably can’t (shouldn’t) spend too much time debating that part…

    1. Think positively. You get back what you put out to the Universe, I truly believe that. Unofrtunately positivity doesn’t come naturally to me so this is something that I am constantly working on. But when I think positively I notice the change in my whole life – my mindset, my body, work, everything.

    2. Be an individual. Don’t follow fads just because everyone else is – be, wear, do and say what feels right to you. And dress for your body shape.

    3. Honesty. There is nothing worse than falseness or lying. I always tell people the truth so I expect the same in return. Its all about the delivery.

    4. Use manners. Always.

    5. Forgiveness. As hard as it can be, holding a grudge is bad for the soul.

And I know it’s just 5 things, but can I just end with my favourite quote: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”. Theodore Roosevelt.

  • Jacquelyn O

    1. Be True to yourself
    2. Be True to others
    3. Always ask “are you okay?”
    4. Food is a magic cure all; put your heart into the plates presented at table.
    5. Laugh, Cry, and experience all the emotions of life then refer back to 1.

  • Leah2

Rules by which to live my life:
1- Be kind. There is no such thing as too much kindness in the world.
2- Be generous. Of your time, love, knowledge, money and everything in between.
3- Be honest. People will thank you for it.
4- Never stop learning. Be a sponge for knowledge!
5- Appreciate what you’ve got. First world problems are nothing compared to third world problems.

  • I’d much prefer someone else get the prize as I have far too many shoes, but – is that a 1930s edition of ‘The House at Pooh Corner’ by A.A. Milne you have on your bookshelf?

If yes, we must be some sort of soul mates. That book is my entire child hood on paper.

  • Carlene Raschke

    Hey Lady M,
    So here goes…
#1 SPREAD IT! Spread the love baby. Love fully. Love soul mates passionately. Love friends wholeheartedly. Love family unconditionally. Just love life and it will love you right back. Awesome.
#2 JUST SHOOT IT! Photographically speaking that is. Being a photographer and all round lover of the creative arts if i’m not being creative then my life just feels grey. I
much prefer my life in technicolor.
#3 GET AROUND! Get out and see the world. I love being home in my wonderful beach town but my body pines to experience the cultures of the world. Eat their food. Dance to their music. Talk to their people. Learn from their customs. And in the end, I am always so grateful to return home and more than ever appreciate what I already have.
#4 GET OUT! Get outside and enjoy the fresh air, swim in the ocean and basque in the sun. The elements seriously feed my soul.
#5 YOU GUTS! No guts, no glory I say. Be confident and take risks, life can be so rewarding in so many ways but sometimes you just need to have some guts to really see what this wonderful universe has waiting for you.

  • 5 rules for which I live my life:
    1. Say ‘thank you’ – Again and again I am blown away by all the goodness and kindness the people in my life bring – on the good days and the really bad. There’s nothing like the words ‘thank you’ to remind them it doesn’t go unnoticed. This also applies to having good manners too!
    2. Nurture friendships – The best relationships in my life are the ones that are open, honest and fun. I like to catch up with a friend at least once a week to talk about everything we can possibly cram in over dinner, drinks or even in the change room at a sample sale. 3. Forgive – very simply, I expect no one to be perfect. My friends and family make mistakes, just like I do. We are all perfectly imperfect and I love the people in my life because of, and in spite of, their flaws.
    4. Have beauty – The most beautiful people I know are in essence beautiful souls – they treat people beautifully, they create beautiful things for others to enjoy. Even if they personally are not ‘beautiful’, they bring beauty into my life. While good grooming is important to me, I aim to be a ‘beautiful person’ through action.
    5. Wear nice shoes – its self explanatory isn’t it?

  • My ultimate rule in life is:
“Smell the flowers while you can”

I think that says it all.

I also try to focus on my LifeList and tick off as many things as I can – doing this makes me happy and fulfilled

  • Katie_m410

    – If you say you’ll do something, follow through!
    – Treat others with the same respect as you would like to receive.
    – Fear/anxiety of a situation is just fear of the unknown, and is NEVER as bad in reality as it is in your head!
    – Life’s too short, forgive, grow and forget

  • La Hola

My life has been turned upside down by bipolar disorder. Here are my life rules:

    3. Take my meds. Always.
    4. Be in the moment.
    5. Some will be there for you. Treasure them.

    1. Always look out the window when travelling and take in the scenery- I find its sometimes the best part.
    2. If the need to wear 5 inch heels is so great then be sure that I know how to walk in them. Otherwise bring flats.

4.(Try) Do something each day that is out of my comfort zone. Like starting a conversation with someone I don’t know at uni.
    5. Laugh, and laugh loud- it’s good for the soul. Also, I apologise for my dorky giggle.
