My new Kuwaii winter coat

I haven’t finished my blog posts for Hong Kong yet, but I just wanted to share very quickly with you the latest addition to my winter wardrobe in this custom made Kuwaii winter coat.

When I went to the press showing of the A/W 13″ collection last year I spied that they had done a version of the Oasis trench that proved incredibly popular, particularly as a trans-seasonal wardrobe piece.

This is the Imperial Trench and it doesn’t actually come in this colour: I had it custom made. That’s the beauty of working with or buying from local designers- they can make clothing just for you. I loved it in charcoal but noticed that they had a fabric swatch of the lavender wool from other styles. It was no problem to have one made especially for me as it was a pre-order.

I have done that before with other designers as well, particularly if they have their garments locally made which Kuwaii do. And I would say that it doesn’t really matter where you are in the world, shop with your local designers and support an industry where you have clothes tailored to suit you.
