I sat down with the face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week for 2014, Elodie Russell to hear her thoughts on a big week ahead.
What’s your idea of the Melbourne look?
Leading into spring it’s almost like everyone’s coming out of ‘hibernation’ with their style. You notice, especially as it gets warmer, that it’s around springtime that Melburnians start to shed the black and embrace colour.
You’re the face of MSFW14, what does it feel like?
It feels exciting! It’s an opportunity that not every girl gets, so I feel honoured and of course very lucky.
Is there a typical day-in-the-life of a model?
A typical day would definitely begin with an early start! There’s usually a lot of running around, especially during an event like MSFW. Photo shoots, hair and makeup, dressings, getting to the shows on time – a typical day-in-the-life of a model is a busy one!
What are you most looking forward to at MSFW?
I’m most looking forward to getting out there and walking in the shows this year! There’s so much adrenalin and work in the build-up, so when it finally gets to event week I’m excited to get out on the runway and showcase the designers’ incredible works. I’m also really looking forward to seeing what the key looks will be for this spring.
