Michael Lo Sordo on the runway at #MSFW 2014

The opening night parade for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week had some catwalk ‘moments’ which is basically what you look for during the week.

Behold…

1. Michael Lo Sordo

The Sydney based designer was included in Monday night’s ‘Couture’ parade and showed some of his SS 14/15 collection. This ensemble exploded on social media meaning it must have been a crowd favourite, even if everyone was looking down at their phone instagramming it.

2. Jason Grech show opening

Grech told me that this collection was inspired by birds of prey, and it really couldn’t have been more evident than this  number that sailed down the runway on the ‘face’ of MSFW, Elodie Russell. She walked solo, mainly under spotlights and with her height and long, blond hair it was a cracker opening for the designer parades.

3. Jason Grech…again

Sometimes in group shows a particular designer just stands out, and on this occasion Grech seemed to own all the ‘moments’ the parade had to offer. The train on this dress was so long it swept the floor and grazed the feet of those sitting front row. The deep plum against the stark white runway was really where the magic happened, because there was no other distraction from this magnificent gown. Well played Mr. Grech, well played!
