Everything in this picture cost less than $5 each!

If you are on a budget this Christmas but you don’t want to give crappy presents, I’ve found the answer. Daiso. I went for breakfast there earlier in the week (I was invited don’t worry, I didn’t just show up with my McMuffin and cafe latte) and was kind of thrilled to actually learn about the the brand.

Every single item in the store is $2.80, no more, no less. There’s a perception it’s the equivalent of a Japanese ‘Reject Shop’ here in Oz, but I discovered that everything is made in Japan and the reason the prices are so low is because they buy in bulk. So the items aren’t going to fall to pieces after a couple of uses, and on top of that they have a very distinct Japanese sensibility. You can buy everything from cookie cutters to garden utensils, but they’ll be covered in a floral print. Kuwaii no?

Ok, ok, these aren't from Daiso but they did cost me $2 each from H&M. Had to include!
