Earlier in the week I was lucky enough to spend time with the gorgeous woman behind Melbourne label Susan Rep to find out just what makes her collections so special.
You can imagine how thrilled I was when they got in contact and wondered, ‘Would your readers like the chance to win one of our limited edition pieces?’

I can tell you from wearing and shooting them myself that the details are apparent as soon as you slip on one of her garments. Made from 100% cotton and silk blends I felt proud to strut around my studio in such beautiful clothes made right here in Melbourne.

How to choose!? I love the casual, classy, elegance of a kaftan; they suit all ages and are particularly great for versatile summer holiday day to night wear. These are gorgeous, with a vibrant range of prints and colours. I love the Kameko Kaftan and pants combination, but the winner for me is the Rouched Inn: Rouched Front Kaftan. Fabulous tribal print and great length.

I love the Rouched Inn: Rouched Front Kaftan. I can see myself lounging around on the deck, in complete style and summer coolness. It is a very versatile piece of clothing also, as it can be teamed with tights and heels when cooler, as well as bejewelled sandals and an oversized hat when in the sun! Perfect for Summer(when it finally arrives!)!!
The Noelle: Drawstring Wrap Kaftan looks lovely and pretty… definately that one.

Who can say no to the Rouched Inn, Rouched Front Kaftan!! Perfect for the humid summer nights we look like we’re in for! I can imagine it now *closes her eyes and imagines very very hard* hair in the bun, beautiful chandelier earrings glistening in the sun, the amazing Rounched Inn Kaftan teamed with an awesome pair of this seasons hottest wedges, while the bangles on my arm make the perfect sound over the Beyonce beats playing on St Kilda beach … lets through in a Jay-Zish partner to top it off!

The white – a classic
I live in kaftans for their dressed up – dressed down versatility and effortless style. Plus they are a dream on my less than dreamy figure.
Its great to see an aussie designer who has made them a focus of their collection and very reasonable prices.
My fave is the Rouched Inn for its versatility. Easy to layer and a great neutral colour palate that can be accessorized in any direction – with bold and bright statement jewellry, in the style of paired back Mediterranean chic or in my favorite combination of a kaftan with statement turban/ headscarf that contrast patterns and textiles for drama.
Also like any great kaftan it rocks a timeless print that is transeasonal and will never age in the wardrobe.

I am a major fan of slipping right into my pjs the moment I arrive home every day, so I can’t think of anything more comfortable to wear than the Slipper: Peasant Pyjama Set – divine! Pure, luxurious comfort.

That’s why I love Lady Melbourne`s blog! She brings to our attention fantastic new labels, clothes and designers. For us, international readers so focused with European designers, discovering something fabulous made in Australia is absolutely cool and exotic. Can you imagine new year`s eve in Rio de Janeiro where people use to go to the beach wearing white head to toe? With a bit of luck I’d maximize the glamour wearing Rouched Inn: Rouched Front Kaftan, which is my favorite piece. Even with a broken arm I`d look and feel great!
