As mentioned in my previous post, I am extremely lucky in that for events and when I need a killer ‘do,’ I have Oscar Oscar to help me out. Otherwise, my everyday hair or what you see on the blog here is done by yours truly. I’ve had all sorts of styles and colours over the years, but since 2003 I haven’t coloured my hair and I can honestly say I don’t think I ever will again.
My general hair routine is thus:
Wash every second day
Brush every day
Trim or haircut roughly every 6-8 weeks to keep things healthy.
I like things to be unfussy and natural with my hair so that it looks healthy and sort of effortless as an everyday look. I can’t stand the thought of bleaching or extensions but I have had plenty of colour in my hair before, just pre-blog days. I worked for a major beauty brand(who shall remain nameless obviously!) as a hair model and had so much colour and treatment that my hair started to fall out. Thats why I stopped colouring my hair really, it was supposed to be temporary but I just never went back and now its healthier than ever.
I have naturally dead straight hair so (shock, horror!) I don’t own a straightening iron of any description. Not one. I have a large barel ceramic curler that I use on occasion to create waves, but as my hair is heavy they tend to just drop out anyway. I guess in a way it cuts out using heat treatments, repairing products and a whole range of styling products too.
This is what I use in an alternate fashion to keep it in shape:
Shampoo and Conditioner
I don’t know whether its good or bad for my hair but I like to alternate my shampoos and conditioners. It works for me I suppose!
Treatments
Styling
I try to keep it as simple as possible as you can see!
And now onto some memorable hair moments on Lady M…
For some reason this hair style was super popular when I posted it last year. It’s cute but I probably wouldn’t wear it every day.

beautiful hair! your hair colour is great ala natural…i have way too many grays to not colour!
i wish i had straight hair – im a frizzy mound of mess!so i get weekly blowouts and it feels lovely!!
ive done the keratin treatment twice now – happy with that so might have to do it again soon…
I have a Mason Pearson hairbrush – it is to die for and so worth the cost. It helps set hair, not just brush it, and it’s perfect for curls! And I’m super jealous of your hair colour, mine’s so mousy I have to dye it!
Love the last shot! Wish me luck with re-creating this look for a Wedding I am attending this weekend!!
You have the most amazing locks!! I have quite straight heavy hair, too, but without so much shine!! Love the extreme side part, but also the blunted fringe.
xx S
I love that mini mouse hair style. too much
And you wonder why you get so many comments about your hair..it’s because it’s GORGEOUS!!!! I unfortunately have been slowly going grey since I was 21 (it’s hereditary). I’m only 30 so I kind of need to colour the regrowth – I wish I didn’t have to though. So jealous xox.
Unfortunately for me, I get the odd grey hair or two so choose to dye. Would you dye your hair in this situation or would you just go au naturel?
I did hair modelling too years ago. I’m still trimming off the dead ends and hate the thought of colouring it again!
As for Aveda, I am in love. My favourite hair salon is Zucci. It’s because of them I found Aveda. The hairspray they do is expensive but smells like a rainforest. Loooove!
I have hair envy! Love the locks!
