Bells Easter Classic

This weekend The Gardener and I visited Barwon Heads again and spent a bit of time down at Torquay for the Rip Curl Bells Easter Classic Pro Surfing championship. We used to go to Torquay when I was a kid for holidays every year so I have great memories of the beach and the coast. These photos were taken when we got back funnily enough on our way to an Easter lunch(Dr.Jones cooked a massive roast with all the trimmings).

I bought this poncho/cape at Savers a couple of weeks ago for $30, which is expensive for Savers and why I don’t really shop there any more. I simply couldn’t leave without it though, it was on the rack outside the change rooms so someone had obviously tried it on but decided against buying it. I was well pleased with myself having decided upon about 5 items of clothing that fit within my strict $50 budget. When I emerged from the change room with my armful of clothes and saw this beauty it was back in to do some Savers-change-room-decision making. Even though I was desperate for a Witchery skirt for $12, a vintage, silk, purple, cowl-neck dress for $8 and a black knitted maxi skirt for $10, I put them aside so I could buy this instead.

And after 3 people complementing and two teenage girls pointing and giggling at me over the weekend, I think it was worth it.

Can you spot my bandaged ankle in there?

What I’m wearing:

Poncho/cape: Savers
Bag: Mimco
Velvet leggings: K-Mart
Brogues: Far East Plaza, Singapore
Bracelets: Birthday gifts from The Gardener.
Watch: Longines
Panama: Raife
Sunnies: Chanel

  1. Teenagers pointing and giggling is the worst! Especially when it doesn’t seem that long ago that we were on the other end of the sniggers.
At least as we get older we realise that the beauty of living in Australia means you can dress however you please.

  2. Gorgeous! I just purchased a cape from asos because of you – my first asos purchase. I hope I get the size right because otherwise that would be a waste of mulah and might have to go straight to savers, where…. 😉

Hope you are having a lovely Easter with The Gardener – it all just finally clicked with me. d’oh! X

  3. Fantastic Savers pickup – sometimes you just have to pay that little bit extra for a good ponch!

  4. Is your hair lighter, or is it just me? Looking lush as always!

  5. LOVE the cape, I was scared about it when I first saw it but the way you’ve put it together looks amazing.

Even the bandage is co-ordinated! Haha.

    Get better soon x

  6. Your poncho is adorable! I was quite reluctant when I first saw it in the video, but now, that I see you wearing it, it seems absolutely gorgeous:)! Actually, I love the whole outfit! Hope you get well soon!:)

  7. I love the poncho! I once picked up a khaki anorak type jacket at good sammys & thought it was a rip off at $20, but i swear- it is the item i wear most out of my cupboard!! Easily worth the $$ I say!!
