I love you guys you know that? Whenever I am stuck and need advice on what ever topic it is I turn to my readers and sure enough I can find the answer. Case in point: yesterdays blog post was on how to wear this beautiful silk vintage dress in winter, and if it was at all possible. My leaning was towards wearing it with black, but Karolina suggested grey with over the knee boots, along the lines of something Willow might present.
I haven’t yet worn these boots this year, but they’ve been on the blog before– a gift from my brother who was at the time living in London. As soon as I put the grey against the butter colour I knew it was ‘right.’ I’ve also paired it with a new winter coat I bought last year during my time as an Editor of Lustable and again as yet haven’t had a chance to wear. I’m still very much leaning towards working it against black, for no other reason than that I think it will make the buttery lemon silk just pop.
Anyhow along the lines of working it with a grey pallet, I’ve got a few options here for varying weather in winter which we all know is a daily occurrence here in Melbourne!

Oh lovely, I have to say, the first things my heart fell for were your coats. How absolutely phenomenal. This blog has been the exact inspiration I need. Thank you so so much for your dedication and I am so happy to have stumbled across this amazing little space! Xx
LOVING the lemon and grey! Gorgeous…!
All the looks are fab – can’t wait to see you try them out xx
I love the first two looks…yellow and grey are a winner in my book.
That coat from Etsy is absolutely stunning!
Love it so much!
This has to be the best little winter combo eva
Inspired!

Love, love, love all of these outfits! Just gorgeous.
Yes, the grey really ‘makes’ the yellow. It grounds it without overpowering the outfit. Fantastic idea.
Great outfits, but i still think it is too much of an obviously summer dress to not look silly with boots and jackets. Surely saving it for the warmer months won’t kill you..
The grey and butter lemon work perfectly together. Love the Country Road cape! Score!
I love how you pair yellow and grey together! The beaded collar and antique cardi are perfectly match … old and new – Love Love!
I think I love the last look the most =)
fierce. Totally fierce.
I love the last look. The beaded collar is beautiful. Now I am feeling very blah in my grey pants and black top combo. Reinspired!
You managed to style the dress perfectly! Looks great. Such a cute cardi. You have inspired me to get out my pair of grey boots, they look very similar.
Wow! I love the first look!
I think you’ve styled it perfectly! I might need your help on how to wear two vintage poncho/capes I’ve recently bought. I really don’t know where to start!
LOVE IT!
The yellow and grey look so meant for each other!
Perhaps you could save the black for night time, with a bit more heel and shine!! …is that a song??
Bit sad there was no socks 🙁 But you look sensational! 🙂
Those grey boots are divine. Great suggestion Karolina. That vintage yellow coat is gorgeous as is the beaded collar.
