A media lounge, but not as you know it

Fashion week schedules vary depending on where you are in the world, and their size. As L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is a consumer event and relatively small in comparison to say Australian fashion week or New York the parades tend to be concentrated to an after hours time slot. I imagine this is so that ticket holders can come after business hours because truly, for parades to begin at 9.30 some nights seemed farsical in my opinion.

I digress.

It means that you run from event to event, all over town and at random times of the day and night. Media lounges make life easier because you can book a spot, update, check out your photos and rehydrate. Until Pybus PR flung open their doors and created a media lounge like I’ve never seen before. Treats from Brunetti’s, candles from Miles Mason, perfume to scent yourself on your way out the door from Peony and a fab terrarium installation from Domain Flowers. At 5.30 every evening they served drinks from Spirits of France on the balcony to boot, or Kyra would make you a cup of tea complete in a vintage tea cup.

It was their own initiative which in a way made it more special and unique. They did a fabulous job, here’s to the next one!

  3. That is a fabulous idea isn’t it?! I’m surprised LMFF didn’t back this initiative up. It’s a great way for the media to just take a short break and also do all their updates on the spot!

  4. This is such a great idea. What a lovely way to keep people relaxed and interested. Besides which, I would kill for some treats Brunettis. I told my older sister that if she ever visited me in Australia, it would be the first place I took her.
