We have day light saving here in Australia which means during the summer months you put your clocks forward one hour which generally prolongs the amount of sunlight you have every day. Yesterday it ended meaning this type of photo could be taken as late as 7pm in the height of summer, now I’ve got to catch the sun by 4pm or its gone.
The gorgeous bag in these photos come from eHandbags. When they asked me if I’d like to do a review I thought ahead to my trip to New York in May. A hobo or medium tote came to mind as something that would come in handy and shortly the ‘Ada’ in orange leather from Erin Hill arrived.
From the outset I have to say that I really, REALLY dislike the colour orange. I don’t own a single item of orange clothing, accessory, home ware, shoe….the list goes on. I find it almost offensive. Yuk.
But I was drawn to this bag for some inexplicable reason and I’m not afraid to get outside my comfort zone with accessories so the ‘Ada’ was one of my picks. And now I can’t stop wearing it.
I’ve discovered that orange goes perfectly with black and white, all black, navy, red, my chinos- EVERYTHING! I don’t think you will see me actually wearing it in clothing any time soon, but this bag has changed my mind somewhat in letting a little orange into my life. The bag itself is roomy, beautiful leather and came gift wrapped and in its own dust bag. I think at $149 it’s a great price for a genuine leather bag when you see the equivalent in ‘pleather’ or PVC for the same if not higher price.
I’m a fan of Manzoni which I noted they also stock and on my wish list is the Double Weave Shoulder Bag that will be arriving shortly.
So I’ve had my mind changed somewhat by the colour of a handbag and thank you eHandbags for the chance to swan around with this gorgeous Erin Hill tote.
What I’m wearing:
Dress: Diane Freis
Bag: Erin Hill ‘Ada’ bag from eHandbags
Heels: Wittner
Leather cuff: Dimacci
Feather pendant: a gift from The Gardener <3
I celebrated a birthday recently and for the occasion The Gardener gave me this darling sterling silver feather pendant. I know that some of you have been curious as to who he is but all I need to say is that long term readers will know a couple of years ago I left His Lordship and the manor behind to start a new life afresh. Not long after I met The Gardener with whom I sip cocktails, do the cross word on Sundays and generally swan about town with him at my side blissfully in love. That’s all there is to say because who doesn’t like a little bit of mystery?!

Your picture are so great! I love the pop of tangy orange i love orange color , and your blog post really nice thanks for sharing..!!
I do adore this bag. I have been gravitating towards the colour orange as late, I even shocked myself by adding an orange pencil skirt to my resent collection. I find that it looks great with Navy, Royal blue and white.
[…] This necklace is also from Ottoman Treasures and cost a mere $29. See above for details, the feather was a gift from The Gardener as mentioned in this post. […]

Ohh I love this bag, I couldn’t love it more! Orange is second only to black in my book … I WANT THAT BAG PRECIOUS! (sorry to shout, but ….)
oh wait. There is a cuff as well?! -drools-
Happy Belated birthday! 🙂 Lovely necklace.
I love your orange bag – and how well it matches your bracelet! I used to be very unsure of colour until I started to buy bright accessories and found it so easy to wear! I’m not the most colourful dresser all the time, but I make up for it in accessories.

Not to make you jealous – but living in the UK our clocks have just went forward meaning we start getting a little bit of extra sun, when it shines that is 🙂
I love the pop of tangy orange – I have been loving citrus colours recently, it has totally helped to change my mostly monochrome and leopard print wardrobe.

Hi from Oslo:)
Summer is slowly but surely coming to this part of the world as well – and thanks for that 🙂
Orange is not my color at all, but there is something about that bag 🙂
Happy easter if you celebrate….

I hate daylight savings end. Sorry blog, no more late afternoon outfit snaps.
I have to admit, I had been wondering about The Gardener. I guess as blog readers you always feel somehow ‘entitled’ to know the in and outs of people’s lives because we already feel part of it, but that’s not -really- the case. We’re more, occasional guests.
I too, was not really drawn to orange but I am slowly loving it. So warm and friendly – gorgeous bag! Love this look.

So true. The end of daylight saving wrecks havoc on post-work outfit shots.
It’s amazing how sometimes an accessory changes the way we see a colour vs. a garment. You wear the orange tote so well I’d never have know you were adverse to the colour in general.

I love orange! I wear it quite regularly, however a pop of orange in nail polish, cuff/bracelet or this bag (which is gorgeous) works just as well!
Great pop of colour with the accessories LM! x
