Sun:Day

Sunny but most definitely wintry here today in Melbourne. I probably could have done with an extra layer but relied upon the fact that I knew I was going to be inside and nice and cosy. Do you do that? Sometimes I’ll leave the house or arrive somewhere to a remark, ‘won’t you be cold?!’

I did think to myself today that I could probably do with a hat of some sort, probably a beret. I think that hats can look sort of well, daggy to be honest. That’s naff or silly if you are outside Australia. I can remember when I landed in London all those years ago sprouting the term ‘daggy’ much to my cousins amusement.

I digress!

I think a beret is stylish but am I missing out of amazing head wear in other hats? I’m not talking about scarfs which I wear often and with vigour. Actual hats.

What I’m wearing:
Coat: Shakuhacki, now on sale from Halcyon State. Yay for you!
Top: Sussan
Jeans/jeggins: Levi’s
Boots: Leather chelsea boots from ASOS
Bag: Mimco
All jewellery: Samantha Wills
Watch: Longines

  1. Great outfit. I adore that jacket. Love the colour and cut out details. I agree hats can look daggy but I do often wish I wore them more often then one in a blue moon.

  5. Embrace winter hats in all their forms! I wear a hat most days, it keeps my head warm, the rain off and older gents open doors for me 🙂

  6. sometimes you can’t win – cold outside/comfortable inside or vice versa… either way, you look wonderful (the coat is such a winner!).

  7. When you’re asked, “Won’t you be cold?”…that may be envy-speak for “Won’t you be looking more glam than me?” LOL. Enough gorgeous fashion out there for us all. Just bought a cashmere wrap at Queen Victoria Market. Do you shop there? http://www.marketscentral.com.au/market/queen-victoria-market I love it — it’s everything from sunnies to glasshouse candles. Lush! Hooray for Melbourne Fashion. Thanks for the pix of that red coat!! Kate
