Do you ever find yourself doing this-
You see someone walking past wearing/holding/carrying something that you think is so utterly gorgeous you have to know where it’s from. You then walk/jog/run after them to tap them on the shoulder and ask, ‘Where is that ‘insert item here’ from?!’ to blank/shocked/slightly scared looks?
Good, cos I do it too ALL THE TIME.
Case in point I have been coveting a pair of pale grey, leopard print jeans for about a month or two now. I saw a woman at the pub one Friday night wearing a washed out, subtle, snakeskin-print pair, which while gorgeous, weren’t really ‘me.’
Back at the same pub on a Friday night recently(you can tell by now I spend my Friday evenings in the pub can’t you) I spied another woman wearing my jeans. Perfect fit, not too long, subtle leopard print in pale grey with almost a hint of pale peachy pink in the back ground, but only in certain light. MY PERFECT LEOPARD PRINT JEAN.
So I said to The Gardener who was mid sentence, ‘ ‘cuse me!’ and trailed off behind her to discover where she’d found them. And guess what? ASOS. ASOS! God bless you ASOS was my first thought because it meant that I could probably buy them for myself. You know what I did when I got home from the pub don’t you?
River Island Faded Animal Print Jean.
I bought this Karen Millen bag also from ASOS a couple of years ago and its served me so well. I always take it travelling with me because of it’s versatile colour and medium size.
Nat-Sui snakeskin ballet flats from In Her Shoes Boutique.
Edenborough Evans ‘Orchid’ ring and my nails are manicured to perfection by Miss Fox of course!
Gasparre sent me this deliciously Divine cashmere cardigan recently and I have been living in it. It’s true what they say, cashmere really is that soft and this ‘Cocoon Knit‘ in grey is no exception. I love it!
What I’m wearing:
Jeans: River Island Faded Animal Print Jean
Ballet flats: Nat-Sui snakeskin ballet flats from In Her Shoes Boutique
Ring: Edenborough Evans ‘Orchid’ ring
Blouse: Unspoken ‘Iznik’ silk blouse
Bag: Karen Millen
Earrings: Edenborough Evans
Cardigan: Gasparre ‘Cocoon Knit‘ in grey

I found them too at half price!!! So excited 🙂 🙂
very stylish !!! nice sweater 🙂
Fabulous!
Hi , gorgeous outfit ! Just wondering did you find the jeans on the large or small size? What size are you normally , what size did you buy?
Many thanks!
@Hmmmm Commercial reality= if a website is FREE to access as LM’s is, the reality is that somehow the owner of that website has to fund its existence. I can think of MANY blogs that have compromised their aesthetic/ content/ quality at the promise of free stuff and money, which Lady Melbourne never has. Out of this entire post, ONE item has been gifted.
@LM- I love this post! The colours are so pretty and I covet that cashmere.
Love xx
Such a great subtle print!

Fantastic find!
And yes, I chase people down all the time to find out where they got the great, necklace, dress, pants, coat, handbag, shoes…you name it! It’s only frustrating when they bought it two years ago at some little boutique in___________ (insert name of some small European city here). But it is inspiring and makes me look harder for something similar.
Cheers,
Laura
@Hmmmm – Yes, time does change people’s tastes and I am happy to see LM embrace jeans! Now is the best time to wear jeans now with all the patterns and colors!
LM, I love your blog ! Dont change anything!
So simple and pretty! It’s interesting how we decide that an item isn’t for us and then once we try them on….viola! it looks great!
Time’s change Bella. LM also used to not have any commercial/sponsored content (or very very little). These days it’s all plugs it seems. But at least she’s open about it. The free gifts = canny marketing from companies, such as the cardigan in this post.
love, love, love this outfit
Wow! Love the jeans! The outfit is gorg! I must ask…LM, wasnt there a time when you were dead set against wearing jeans?
What a gorgeous outfit. Loving the neutral and pastel hues! I am so getting me a pair of those jeans x
