It’s sort of hard to believe that Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) has rolled around again- where has this year gone!
Last night was the first night of official parades although there has been plenty happening ‘off calendar’ as they say, and during the day. MSFW is a retail event so pretty much all of what you see is available for you to go out and buy immediately, and I have seen some/most of it at Australian Fashion Week earlier in the year in Sydney.
However, I think if executed correctly a retail event can be a really wonderful way for anyone and everyone to come along and experience the magic of fashion week.
Long before Lady Melbourne existed, and in the early days before media accreditation existed for ‘bloggers,’ I would buy tickets and attend after work, wishing that I could somehow transport myself out of my corporate job and into the front row. I suppose if you work hard enough dreams really can come true and last night I had to pinch myself at how far I’d come.
If you get a chance there are events on all week and many of them are free, come join me!

Skirt: ASOS
Heels: Nat Sui
Belt: Ottoman Treasures
Woven clutch: ASOS
I left my camera at home so these photos were taken on my HTC One X with an 8 mega pixel camera. I’ve always used HTC and they have supported me in my blogging efforts for years now. I think considering it’s a phone camera these are pretty good and restores faith that you can take blog worthy photos on your phone!
