Lady Melbourne wearing Sussan lift and shape jeans

Can you guess where my jeans are from? Rag and Bone? J Brand? Paige Denim?

Before I reveal a Lady Melbourne exclusive and a tidy little give away to go with, see if you can guess.

Nope? You may recall that I blogged recently on my discovery of some great basics and very on-trend pieces from none other than Sussan. Their latest offering and an exclusive for Lady Melbourne readers is their latest denim range which has just this week dropped in store.

The Denim Story is about helping you find the right shape, fit, length, size and style to fit your body shape. I tried them all on and settled on these ‘Lift and Shape’ in a blue wash, designed to well, lift and shape you in all the right places. They are supremely comfortable on account of their 73% Cotton 27% Elastane mix, but I love that they don’t look like Nanna jeans.

Anyhow Sussan were so happy that I was happy with my recent purchases that they said, ‘How about we give a Lady Melbourne reader the exclusive jump on the denim range and a $200 voucher to spend.’

BOOM.

Thank you Sussan was my reply, so if you would like to own not just a pair of jeans but an entire outfit, because, let’s face it their prices are so good, all you have to do is check out The Denim Story and tell me in the comments below which pair you’d like to make your own.

What I’m wearing:
Jeans: ‘Lift and Shape’ jean in blue from Sussan
Clutch: Anthropologie, purchased on my trip last year to New York
Lace blouse: vintage, I bought it on Etsy
Heels: RMK
Sunnies: House of Harlow
Earrings: Op-shop

  1. Love Sussan’s stuff! I’d buy the slim dark wash jean – I can’t resist dark denim in the Autumn/Winter months!

Love your lace blouse too, what a great Etsy find!

  2. The Twiggy split night wash jean paired with the Light Chambray Shirt and the Olivia animal print purse. Absolute perfection!

  3. I’d love to try the Slim Dark Wash Jeans. They look so stylish and comfy.

  4. I think I would choose the Slim Dark Wash Jean. I really like the darker colours going into autumn, but as we all know – the proof is in the fit (I may have to try them all on)!

  5. Dear Lady M,

Thank you for the fab competition. I have had the chance to look at the new season collection at sussan which is absolutely on trend, comfortable and great value.

I’d be delighted with the relaxed fit pair of jeans – It would be a good opportunity to “dip my toe” into the boyfriend jean trend sans rips.

    x

  6. The relaxed fit or lift and shape in a darker wash! I am forever looking for jeans that’s are comfortable, such a challenge. Hopefully the Susan jeans end my search!

  7. I’d love the Twiggy split night wash jeans!

  8. I am in awe of these lift and shape jean in blue. Jeans are a mum’s uniform and lifting and shaping is what a lot of us need! I am always on the look out for mid rise jeans that don’t look like Nanna pants. I think these might be it. 🙂

  9. Oh, the slim dark wash have got my name on them. Dress ’em up, dress ’em down! Ps. those jeans do really flatter your booty. 😉

  10. The relaxed. It is refreshing to see a relaxed pair of jeans that aren’t shredded to bits !

  11. Woukd have to be the Slim mid wash jean. They look amazing, never knew Sussan had this type of clothing looks designer. Will have to now drop in and take a look around.

  12. It’s between lift and shape and the slim fit. They both look really good!

  13. My lovely lady lumps & curves would look amazing in the lift & shape black jeans. So much love for these you’d think it’s valentines day tomorrow or something! LOVE!!!

  14. Loving the lift and shape in black, perfect for working during the day and then going to dinner at night, teamed with coat, heels and great clutch and va voom nail polish

  15. You have such amazing style. Effortless class. x x My wardrobe is bursting but I currently own only ONE pair of jeans…… a little sad actually; I’m fussy! The slim fit look ridiculously flattering. Going over to their site now. I haven’t looked at Sussan for years….. thanks for the heads up! 🙂

  16. I’m loving that Sussans are getting groovy , I’m needing a new pair of skinny jean send the colour is perfect x

  17. Loving that I can finally fit my booty into slim fit, and look/feel good!
The mid wash in the Sussan range is amaze!
Would also die for that fab light chambray shirt.
Soft, cool chambray, what’s not to love?! Big fan!

  18. Oh Wow where do i start!!!! having just had my third baby (and just turning 30!!) i’m in dire need of a new pair of jeans that doesn’t scream “MATERNITY” or “DAGGY”
The lift and shape or the slim dark wash jeans in black would be a perfect beginning to a transition back into fashion and comfort post babies!!!!!

Unfortunately due to studying, working and raising three kids under 5 the time and effort that i usually put into researching jeans is not there…so your enthusiasm and recommendations Lady Melbourne is intriguing to me as we have Sussan close by in the Melbourne!

  19. Studying and working mean I need a go-to jean that I can wear with everything in my wardrobe. The black lift and shape jean is perfect because black is so very Melbourne and oh so versatile. They also are fitted and fall just above the ankle, meaning I can tuck into boots on a cool winter’s day or wear with heels for a night out with the girls.

  20. I love the Lift and shape jeans. It’s the only jeans that will make me look like Beyoncé

  21. As much as I love the sunshine and warm weather, I can’t wait for the cool change that comes with Autumn!

I prefer layering my outfits rather than relying on one blouse/ shirt to keep me suitably comfortable throughout the day, and I think a black pair of the shape and lift jeans would be a fantastic addition to my autumn/winter wardrobe.

I’m thinking monochrome with maybe a pair of metallic loafers or an over sized metallic bag? But whatever look I’m going for, the black shape and lift jeans will be a go to staple for my wardrobe 🙂

  22. I would love the Slim Mid Wash Jeans 🙂

  23. The lift and shape for me – my butt needs all the help it can get!!

  24. Definitely the Slim Jeans (and the blazer, and the shirt…). I have been pondering a more classic outfit for the days I don’t feel the head-to-toe vintage love, and this is exactly what I have had in mind!

  25. Definitely the lift and shape for me. Have been thinking about buying some and now that I’ve seen how good they look on you I am sold. Only thing better would be to win the voucher and get a fab top to go with them, am thinking the animal print pullover.

  26. I am all about jumping on bandwagons (though usually EONS after everyone else has made the discovery). So if I start wearing Lift and Shape within a month of a Melbourne style icon reporting on them, then that will surely Lift and Shape my mood, as well as my rear-end!

  27. The relaxed jeans look super cute cuffed.

I’ve been dying to visit Dejour jeans in Brunswick, but Sussan’s denim might be for me.

  28. Never having been an owner of denim jeans before I recently purchased Sussans Liza jeans falling head over heels in love with denim! I’d love to continue by new denim romance with the Lift and Shape as seeing them on you makes me wish a pair in my wardrobe!

  29. Slim dark wash for me!!! I have spent the last year getting my prebaby body back and I am ready for a pair of jeans! (And I would LOVE to get a new denim jacket. My old one is now practically flannelette – Sussan’s one looks fab!)

  30. Really love how the lift and shape jean looks on you Lady Melbourne. I am still tossing up between ‘The Slim’ and the ‘The Relaxed’. Would love to own both, so perhaps I need to pop into one of the stores to try on both….oh the dilemma of it all! I have been looking for a ‘boyfriend’ style jean for a while, so perhaps ‘The Relaxed’ will be my first choice. It looks like a great fit for a curvy body, comfy enough to run around in all day at work, and then change into heels for going out at night. A simple blazer and bright accessories will go perfectly with ‘The Relaxed’…..oh and yes…my huge handbag! 🙂

  31. I never thought I’d hear myself saying this, but: The boyfriend jean is here to stay.
    There. I said it.
Initially, the bf jean was a tricky, trend item that I was sure was only going to last a few weeks like so many ill-fated denim comebacks (acid was denim, anyone?).

I would treat myself to the Liza Distressed jeans (seen ehre: http://www.sussan.com.au/shop/en/sussan/clothing/jeans/liza-light-distressed-jean#.UvnbUvmSx8E).

Also, can I just add- I’m 23 years old, and always remember Sussan as the store my mum dragged me too as a kid at the shopping centre. One of their knits caught my eye the other day, and upon entering the store I realised that they have really stepped up their style game. Gorgeous, crisp monotones and simple silhouettes- I was in heaven! You always seem to be one step ahead of me, I was just thinking about Sussan!

I plan to head back soon to stock up before autumn 🙂

Thanks for the chance Lady M! xo

  32. I was JUST boasting about the powers of the Sussan jean the other day. No other jean comes up high enough, is short enough in the leg or as comfy as my Sussan jeans. I’m looking forward to getting a pair of black Lift and Shape jeans to wear to the footy and out this winter. Thanks LM!

  33. I’d go for the ‘Relaxed Fit’ style as they suit my personality and I love jeans that fit comfortably on my hips for all day wear.

  34. I love the look and idea of the blue lift and shape jeans! They look jut fab on you!

  35. I love the blue lift and shape jean as I am getting older my bottom is getting flatter and these jeans look like they could give me a younger derrière!

  36. I’m sitting here in my old stretched jeans, smeared with greasy toddler’s leftovers and a bit of baby milk vomit on the left knee. I see those lift and shape jeans, and they’re calling to me. Once I’m released back into the wilds of the workplace in a few months’ time, I would wear those within an inch of their life – all without having to worry about my butt hanging out the back.

  37. After 15 long years, I’ve finally gotten around to losing the baby weight (12 kilos so far) so I would like to branch away from loose/bootleg/baggy/boyfriend jeans at long last and dare to have a go at wearing a slim leg jean! The Slim dark wash jean looks about perfect for the job.

  38. Ah the black lift and shape look fabulous!!

  39. Looking gorgeous, Lady M! I’d also go for the Lift and Shape jeans in blue – I’ve only just stopped being afraid to show my legs off in jeans and would love a new pair to make me feel totally sexy yet comfy at the same time! x

  40. The black lift and shape for me.

  41. I’d love a pair of the lift and shape too. Definitely need some help in the butt area.

  42. I really like Sussan, I think that have some great pieces. I would like to have the Lift and Shape Jeans as my body seems to have dropped after going through the menopause !!

  43. Would love to wear the Lift & Shape Jean for the dressy dinners with sky high pointed heels and the relaxed fit for the out&about weekends.
    A great come back Sussan.

  44. I am sure I NEED the relaxed fit jean, rather than just want. I’m a new mum on the run. Flitting between crawling along the ground with my daughter to conducting business meetings with clients and pretending I’m totally up with the latest trends. I don’t have time for total outfit changes, I need to be able to dress up and down but not spend too much time doing it. I think the relaxed Jean could complete my look. I’m hoping the word ‘relaxed’ also rubs off onto me.

  45. I would also have to go with the lift and shape. I’ve been looking for a pair of slim leg jeans for a while but I can never find ones that fit my legs and my bum at the same time. They’re either too tight in the legs but fit my bum or too tight in the bum but make my legs look great. This pair looks like they might just be the right combination!!

  46. The black lift and shape jeans sound all sorts of wonderful, because let’s face it who doesn’t need a bit of lifting and shaping? Especially me, post-baby 😉

  47. The Liza relaxed for me!

  48. The blue lift and shape jean looks pretty good to me, a non-jean wearer. I never buy them as I always leave the shops near in tears at the struggle at finding a pair that fit properly. Apparently no one cuts to my shape… I’ll have to give Sussans a go next time, see if I might have some luck there!

  49. Lift and Shape for me in black. I do storytime at work with kiddies so always am on the lookout for a black pant with a bit of stretch for all that dancing.

  50. Lift & shape is a must! They look fab!

  51. I would love to get my fingers on Bootleg jean they look really comfy and you would think it was a high end designer brand!

  52. I struggle to find jeans that fit my bum, thighs and legs all at one while being comfy, so I think the the ‘relaxed’ style would be IT for me. I love the classic blue wash colour and the funky on trend cuffed ankles.

  53. Well, if it makes my bum look like that I’d have to go with the Lift and Shape ;0)

Sussan has been a staple in my wardrobe for the past 5 or years, their clothes are well designed and high quality and their PJ range rock!

  54. I am completely hearting your lift and shape jeans. Just what I need to help my derrière to defy gravity! 😉

  55. Love that Vintage Top…….given I have ducks disease (short) finding the right length and fit in jeans is extremely difficult…..I have found slim fit works best but then I struggle to hide my c-section bump……………..the Sussan range makes women still look a little classy and feminine when in denim – the slim story with the relaxed top or the navy jacket combo would be me and those blue shoes 🙂

  56. Loving Sussan for a while now – always great service and the colour and quality range is fabulous!!! I am hanging to grab a pair of the slim jeans in the dark wash and the denim jacket could sneak in there too!!!

  57. I’d love the slim dark wash jean. I’d really like the denim jacket too. I haven’t had one in ages and have been wanting one to wear with some of my cute dresses!

    Thank you x

  58. Who doesn’t want to look effortlessly stylish and comfortable at the same time. The Relaxed jeans in Blue would be perfect for lazy Autumn nights out and dressed down for casual fun. Well done Suzanne, making fashion and comfort easy

  59. Gosh I would love/need a pair of ‘Lift and shape’ jeans. I really hate shopping for jeans and are desperate for some new ones, those sound so great!

  60. The Slim mid-wash jean for me! Perfect for cool summer nights with a peep-toe wedge heel, autumn with suede flats and into winter with my favourite black boots.

  61. Oh, I am obsessing over the new Slim Dark Wash Jean. Classy and sleek, perfect for all Winter, especially with boots!
I have just started to shop again at Sussan and have been beyond happy with all my recent purchases!

  62. I would LIVE in the black lift and shape jean this winter. Teamed with grey. Run, run, run. Look at the busy mum go. In and out of the car she flies and not a plumber’s crack to be seen with this style. Mercifully.

  63. Would love the lift and shape jean in black ! Perfect for casual Fridays at work and Friday night drinks in the city! Love Sussan they have made a big cone back in my wardrobe ! Hannah
