Acne Jensen Boots – One Year On

So how are these Acne Jensen boots (that I took so long to add-to-cart) a year on? Well, I’ve come to realise why they hold such a cult like status in fashion land. They do sort of go with everything in your wardrobe from jeans, to cigarette pants, to skirts and boho frocks. Here’s my original post when they were brand spanking new to my wardrobe in case you need to catch up.

Sort of like the good old Chanel 2.55 bag – just throw it on and it instantly upgrades whatever you’re wearing.

FIT

I was wondering whether they’d soften up as they’re a narrow cut, and while the leather certainly has the shape hasn’t budged. These are good quality leather boots, built to last for many years to come. Despite the fact I have narrow feet and therefore should fit into this slim cut quite well, I find that I can only wear really thin socks or stockings with them. Anything fleecy is uncomfortable.

WEAR & TEAR

Really there is none. They look quite new despite being worn right through last winter and beyond. I haven’t been doing anything heavy duty like music festivals or walking super long distances, that said I’m sure they’d still hold up as its a sturdy boot. I’m actually looking forward to seeing them get that lovingly worn look.

WARDROBE VERSATILITY

The Acne Jensen boots are not cheap (you can buy them here), so part of the decision was would they be a versatile wardrobe item? I’m pleased to say the answer is yes. When I’m in a hurry I pull them on and feel instantly good about my outfit. Try them with jeans, pants, a leather mini, a boho frock or a pleat skirt. So cost-per-wear has certainly paid off!
