As you can already tell from my posts of the last couple of days, Hayley and I had the pleasure of being flown up to Brisbane to attend the Chambord Shine Awards 2010at Cloudland on Tuesday evening.
I’m not terribly familiar with whats going on in Brisbane fashion wise, apart from the big hitters like Gail Sorronda and Easton Pearson. In my 24 hours in the city I met some real talent however from designers, stylists, jewellery designers and hair and make up artists.
George Wu, Talulah and Jacqueline Buck were chosen by a panel of judges to succeed to the next round in Sydney but really the standard was so high any of the entrants could have been put through. My two choices were Subfusco and Salita Matthews and I’d urge you to vote for them as a second chance round through Facebook. Perhaps it’s my Melbourne sensibility but I thought they were edgy, modern and fashion forward and very much deserving of a place in the finals.
The Chambord cocktail creations were just delicious- lychee martinis are normally my drink of choice but the French martinis on offer may very well have just replaced that!

Sipping on a Chambord, lime and soda. Recipes are all here………yum!

Hayley looking ultra glam(she’ll kill me for saying that!) in Subfusco and me below also in Subfusco. Josh dressed us for the evening and I really need to give him a huge shout out for his efforts. Never felt so glamorous in my life!
Voting for our favourite designers….sadly my picks didn’t get up but you can vote for Subfusco and Salita Matthews over on Facebook and help them get to the finals.
Paula Walden, Tanya Mrnjaus of ID Couture and myself. Tanya is wearing one of Paula’s stunning creations- I couldn’t take my eyes off it all night!

I love the tall brunette model in the george wu designs far right, who is she does any one know?
Also this is to Anna, don’t come on blogs attempting to abuse people find something better to do with your time please
ummm Anna, the girls were not judges. Why do you have to make such a comment? don’t you have anything else better to say!
Seems like a conflict of interest; both you and Hayley being dressed for the event by Subfusco and then voting for them.
Love this blog….bookmarked. Ill be back and Ill be sure to pass this on 😉
There’s no doubt Jacqueline Buck is dead set rock star designer of the future. Looking forward to seeing her designs at the Mercedes in August!

Lovely pics – and what stunning fashion. Do especially love the black-lace-trimmed dress by George Wu.
