Saison, Saison, Saison!

I was absolutely deeeeeelighted when an invitation arrived to visit Saison’s head office and private show room- all things fragrant and beautifully packaged easily win my heart over. It was while I was there however that I discovered the stories behind the brands that Saison carry– almost every product has a wonderful history to its name.

The products won’t be found in department stores and are certainly not mass produced- you are looking a little luxuries, often times hand crafted by years old traditions.

Jason and Justin were so lovely and patient with my multitude of questions- ‘So when exactly did they start to sell Les Anis de Flavigny in the Paris Metro?’ and were stumped by nothing I asked.

And of course, the extra sweet cherry on top was the discovery of Darcy and Harry, two sweet but slightly on edge Dachshunds. I say on edge because my natural inclination is to swoop in and pick up every dog I meet and I can only imagine what it’s like for someone the size of Harry to have a mad woman clawing after you. Still, they made the entire experience just wonderful.

 Behold, Saison….

Hand pressed soaps.

Linari is a French fragrance product that is German made and features Zubrano, Wengi and Mapel wood for the bottle lids and through out the range. True luxury.

Nesti Dante are one of Italy’s oldest soap companies and only make just that: soap. Saison is the only distributor of Nesti Dante soaps in Australia having discovered them on a trip to Italy years ago and forging a relationship with the family run business.
The soaps are olive oil based and all of the products that are used to make the soaps are locally sourced.

The showroom is for trade only, you can however shop till your heart’s content at Saison.com.au

  9. Ooohhh I love the packaging. I’m a sucker for a beautifully packaged product. Slightly jealous of your tour, mind you my credit card would have needed CPR by the time I left so it’s probably a good thing I wasn’t there. 🙂

Love that you show even an old Melbournite like me all the gems that you normally don’t know about.
