Jane Russell passed away yesterday, Tuesday 28th Feb 2011 and I’d like to pay a small tribute to one fabulous, stylish and everlasting woman.
Aside from her contribution to music and film, Russell devoted a large part of her life to advocacy for adoption starting the World Adoption International Fund in 1955. She was beautiful and her influence is still relevant today in everything from Dior’s latest couture collection through to Katy Perry’s latest beauty look.
She’s definitely a style icon for me as you can see from some of my previous posts. We love you Jane, rest in peace.

I have watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes a zillion times… will have to watch it again in her honour… just read in The Age today that she was very religious – would not have guessed!
Oh I love Jane russel. Gentlemen prefer blondes is one of my favourite movies ever!
