I’ve never used an iPad if you can believe it, it sometimes even amuses me as a blogger that I don’t own one. Vodafone sent one over for me to try out for a couple of days and I’m still well and truly getting the hang of things. The biggest barrier was realizing it wasn’t my Mac Book Pro and wouldn’t behave like one (damn technology that doesn’t do EXACTLY WHAT YOU COMMAND) but once I jumped that hurdle it’s been fab.
I used it to take these photos of my Alice and Olive heels below and discovered after the fact there are apps like Photoshop Express (as a Photoshop devotee I loved this) that could have enhanced my photography efforts even more. And there are literally thousands of apps.
Next year will see a lot of travel for me, I’m off to Hong Kong in January and New York in May and have considered getting an iPad to help me along the way. The blog doesn’t stop just because I’m off gallivanting around and once I discovered the WordPress app it kind of cemented how easy it would be to blog while I’m on the go.
Now I know that for some of you who were early adopters of the iPad you’re probably going- “Wow, she’s discovered WordPress. Genius.” But in all seriousness I’m converted and would like to join the ranks of those people who carry around an iPad in a cute case, download apps and take photos and blog. There, I said it.
Vodafone have a range of tablets available, with the added benefit of paying nothing (literally NOTHING $$0) up front.
So what do you think iPad users, can I join the club?!

Ipads are certainly becoming an essential tool for any blogger, and the sheer range of apps make getting bloggy things done so much easier. Its a real time saver!
Check out Smart Dresser for ipad is a great little app for getting your fashion fix on the go!! 🙂
I’m all for utilising the latest tech, but i simply cannot let go of the laptop… Touch screen phone maybe, but a touchscreen keyboard just doesn’t do it for me.
Nothing beats blogging from a macbook air 🙂
read this yesterday… today went to Vodafone and now have new iPhone and iPad. Sad about my android but excited too!
I like your top 🙂
LOL I have had my iPad for a whiiiile now & being a Gen X-er, I am STILL fumbling my way through it – when I can be bothered! [I am waaaaayyy attached to my MacBook Pro too!]
Which got me thinking…along the 2012 aka twenty-delve [deeper!] vein of what my next-year-action-list could be.
First stop, activate my [year old!] one-on-one with the MacMagicians to.teach.me.ALL.I.need.to.know about the CyberCaveOfIntelligence! Hmmm….feel better already with just that ONE commitment of NewYearAction. Aaaahhhh….
By the way, LOVE the shoes AND your impending travel itinerary even more! Hahahaha xx
Am looking forward to you playing dress-ups with your new iPad! There is such an array of covers/sleeves/pouches/jackets…marc jacobs, hermes, kate spade…just to name a few! Enjoy.
Glad to hear, your blog is continuing when your on holidays. Make sure to take heaps of photos on the fashion trends for us! Also, please please visit Forever 21 and make a blog on it! My friend has been there and has said the clothes are amazing and cheap too! Have a merry christmas!
iPads are certainly fun, although if I were looking for something like that, I’d be more tempted by some of the alternatives, especially the ones that have easy usb or SD card connectiity. You CAN connect those things to an iPad, but only if you buy the right attachments. On the other hand, other tablets have those slots built right in.
A friend of mine went on an amazing adventure overseas and bought an iPad specifically so she could update her blog with news of her travels (thereby making us all incredibly jealous). She tells us it was the wrong choice and it made everything harder instead of easier.
They are very easy to use, though, so I guess it ends up being a bit of personal preference in the end. I hope you find yourself something you like and that works for you. 🙂
SOLD.
I’m going out to get one in the sales.
LOVE the shoes!
love sunny girl! they have some really great stuff this summer and it looks pretty much equal quality as many of the more expensive-ish stores.
As an iPhone user (I know you use an HTC so this may not apply) if I ever bought an iPad (want one desperately but can’t justify it) I would NOT be buying it through a telco.
The latest iPhone’s OS (iOS 5) has a nifty little feature called “hotspot” that turns your phone into a wireless modem and uses the data you have on your phone plan. Android phones may also have this feature, I don’t know.
What I do know is that my current plan gives me 2gb of data a month and I rarely exceed 250mb so for me, getting a 3G iPad with it’s own data plan is just throwing money away. Best off to go to Apple and get a wifi only iPad and save your dollars.
Food for thought.
Hey I just read this post and replied on my iPad. It has changed the way I consume the interwebs. With the new iCloud and iMatch services it is quickly becoming the replacement for majority of my laptop functions. Really the only thing I use my laptop for now is creative suite, word and excel.
Our travels to Mexico we just had our iPads, the camera adaptor (which is a must to download photos by USB to the iPad) and a wireless connection. There was nothing that we couldn’t do with the interwebs.
Photoshop express sounds like an amazing application! My husband has an ipad and I think I may just like to follow suit one day. If only they weren’t so expensive!
