It’s been a long time coming but after mysteriously tweeting about it I can finally reveal a project that I’ve been working on now behind the scenes for a couple of months. I’m so incrediably excited to be part of a team that are putting together what should be a first for the Australian blogging scene!
Here’s a little synopsis(that I wrote for the website so I don’t feel too bad about reproducing here!):
Fashionopolis is Australia’s first ever industry day for fashion bloggers giving you a chance to network, learn and get yourself in front of some of the country’s most high profile fashion bloggers. If you have ever wondered about the business of blogging, this event is a must on your fashion calendar!
Part networking, part education Fashionopolis will open your eyes to a range of different topics unique to fashion bloggers: how to establish your blog as a brand, how to approach advertising as well as hosting Fashion Torque, Australia’s only fashion chat show that will broadcast live from the event.
Whether you are an established fashion blogger or just starting out, Fashionopolis will get you out from behind your computer and amongst the Australian fashion blogging community. Start planning your outfit now!

I’ve always been about community with my blogging exploits whether it’s organising dinners and coffee for bloggers through to teaching how to blog at the CAE here in Melbourne. I’ve not been in a position to gather bloggers from all over Australia together until now however so I’m brimming with excitement for what Fashionopolis will provide on the day.
I know when I started out I would have given my favourite DVF dress to get myself in front of high profile bloggers to ask how they’d achieved success with their blog and so nearly 6 years later that idea has become a reality. I feel so passionately about blogging and with that knowledge sharing and community and I’m thrilled that Fashionopolis is finally here!

LM. Looking forward to Fashionopolis. Thank you for being the mastermind behind its conception. You are a class act and a hard one to follow.
Very summer, I like the design.
It’s fabulous to see you working on this project which you are so passionate about. Enjoy the journey Lady Melbourne!
People it is HER blog…she can do whatever she wants with it 🙂
Just saying….
Have a lovely day.
I’m very much looking forward to this fabulous event LM!

@ whip …. Bit harsh posting in a public forum, next time PM the lovely Lady.
To me putting people on show is a terribly bad look. I just hope Lady M has taken Whip’s advice and used it to her advantage.I couldn’t agree more with Marianne this is all about communicating, sharing idea’s and most of all having fun.I have nothing but Love for you Lady M !
Thank you Wild Tea Party, there was indeed no harm meant.
And Lady M you are classy! Thanks for letting my comments stand and not censoring them.
This is such a fantastic idea Lady M! I wish I could make it. It’d be great to see something like this done in Sydney as well 🙂
As a side note to everyone who got upset re Whip’s comment, Lady M is a professional writer and she would be more than used to having her work sub-edited for other formats. Looking now, I can see she has made the changes that Whip pointed out, so I’m sure no harm has been done 🙂
This sounds amazing – I would love something like this in the UK – I’m so new to this I would love to meet with some experienced bloggers, just to know how to get the best out of it – you know how not to loose myself or confidence when I don;t get the response I want.

Fashion, Well Done
Guh! After the slight mention on it at the announce of Blogopolis, I was saving to go to this too, only to realise today that I bought tickets to see Prince in Sydney the night before! Hope the event goes well and that we may see another one (in Sydney) next year!
Whip, why not whip up our own blog? That way you can ensure it is word perfect
In the meantime MYOBB [Mind your own blogging business.]
Oh such an exciting event! I would love to go I bet the Melbournites have a ball! Thanks for organising it!

Deary me. I am looking forward to this event so much, Lady M! Very excited!
I know that I have learnt so much from you, and look forward to learning more! Cheers!
Whip: your grammar is not immaculate either. Blogging is also SO much more about communication than straight copy writing; the communication of ideas and personality and FUN!
Now K.P. don’t try to dangle bait at me. I’m not biting! Nice work though.
Thanks Girl in Oslo. Possibly you are right. Possibly LM isn’t offended, yet everyone jumps to her defence. She’s quite capable of looking after herself, I’m sure.
I dont know you, but I love’s you Girl in Oslo ! 😀
@Whip – no i am Norwegian as you can probably see:)
Studied at Bond University on The Gold-Coast almost 10 years ago (studied English)….I miss Australia more then i can say.
However as i am thinking about it… you are making a valid point…how on earth can you get better at something if no one is there to tell you what you did wrong in the first place…?
Comment`s like these are so easily misunderstood…that`s the problem….
I wish you a great day Whip…
Interestingly Girl in Oslo, your grammar was correct. It would be ‘Whip’s site’… English wouldn’t be your first language, would it?
Like I said above I am not trying to be bitchy (apologies if that is the effect) HOWEVER others have also mentioned these things in the past, and as a writer I feel compelled to comment on these things. Especially as no efforts seem to be being made to take my [free] advice/corrections on board.
Iolanthe, correct grammar has nothing to do with OCD. Nothing at all.
Hi from Norway 🙂
I am so glad someone is here to tell you how to write/spell Lady M!
This is your site..not Whip`s (that was probably wrong)
Do/say/write what you want 🙂
Have a great day.
Could you please go away /\ snippy whip ?
Whip it into OCD shape!
para 1: scene or scenes not scene’s
para 3: country’s not countries
final para: FAQs not FAQ’s
That was just on a first quick read through. Come on Lady M. Please get someone to proof your work, or do it yourself properly. This is slapdash and a terribly bad look. Not professional.
You might think I am just wanting to pull you down but seriously I love your work, I love your pics and what you are about, so I am *trying* to help.
You don’t write much text, I’m sure there’d be someone willing to read over it. It seems to be the possessive apostrophes that you can’t get; this is common a lot of people don’t get it.
This looks fantastic!! But I sadly live in NSW and I work that Saturday. Will they do one in Sydney? All the cool stuff is always in Melbourne 🙁
