All Wrapped Up

It never ceases to amaze me what you can find in an op-shop. People give away all sorts of things that they no longer want or need. Imagine my utter delight when I walked into my local op-shop to find this pure wool, hand knitted scarf made in Scotland. Iโ€™ve been looking for a really long pure wool scarf that you can wrap and wrap around you.

There are two holes but nothing that canโ€™t be easily darned so now Iโ€™m left wondering- why did someone not want this divine scarf anymore?

What have you found? I know we all have stories of finding the most amazing house hold items, clothing and accessories and Iโ€™ve certainly got some crackers over the years. Your turn!

  1. What a beautiful warm looking scarf! I’ve found a few gems over the years with my fav probably being a Gucci waist belt for $1…

  2. Ah that scarf looks cosy, particularly useful in such freezing temps.

With my own finds, there are so many to mention, but my best find has to be a Paul Smith bag snapped up for $2 http://www.recycled-fashion.com/2011/02/designer-bag-when-you-least-expect-it.html

  3. A couple of weeks ago I found an amazing leather bag at my local Salvos in Croydon. It’s over-the-shoulder, camel in colour and features beautiful matt silver buckles. I paid $10 for it and I’m sure a shop would’ve sold it at one point for $70 or upwards. All it needed was a wipe-down with a damp cloth to get rid of some sightly marks. Other than that, it’s practically brand new ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I found a real Louis Vuitton bag at Savers a few years ago… No one still believes me haha

  5. Ok you have now inspired me to be looking in op shops but I still feel a little awkward believing that they should be left for people who cannot afford to buy elsewhere. I am a sucker for an amazing scarf so will start my hunt today xx.

  6. that’s so funny that your scarf is from scotland – I can only imagine some scottish person arriving in melbourne only to find it so warm in comparison to home that they couldn’t imagine ever needing this scarf ever again!

  11. I’m an op-a-holic and am constantly amazed at what people give away.

My most favourite item of clothing that i’ve got recently is a 70s fuschia maxi posted about here http://theseaandmechange.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/what-i-wore-wednesday-70s-heaven.html
