I had some time to kill at the airport recently, which usually means that I find myself in the shops. One of which is Sportsgirl who were on sale. I haven’t ever really worn rose gold so I thought I’d try my luck with the necklace above that cost all of $9. I also picked up the ring you can see in the pictures below for $5. If I decided that I didn’t like it then no matter, it wasn’t a big investment anyhow. But now I love it, love, love, love rose gold.
When I passed a Mimco store and noticed they were on sale I popped in looking for a wallet(my one is 4 or 5 years old and needs replacing) but walked out with this chunky bracelet instead….for $30!
At the moment it’s only costume jewellery, but its a nice way to ease myself into what looks like a new love affair with rose gold.

My love for rose gold has only grown since being gifted with a Michael Kors rose gold watch for my birthday earlier this year… I have always been a “silver person” but now i switch between the two or mix and match. I love the pinky tones and love how it is becoming more popular…

I wonder if rose gold is an acquired taste. I used to not like it at all but over the past two years have seen some beautiful rose gold pieces and have been contemplating a big, chunky, rose gold watch.

Rose gold is lovely. There was a time when I avoided it, which was a little silly considering I have an uncle who is a jeweller with a big stash of the stuff! 🙂
I’ve long been a fan of rose gold, having worked around it for so many years during my stint in fine jewellery retail. IMO it’s the more elegant of the coloured golds.
