Latest op-shop find: blue and white china

I have a thing for blue and white china and generally can’t walk away without buying a tea cup if I see one in an op-shop. This is the latest addition and it’s currently being used to display some of my delicate earrings.

My dream is to one day have a beautiful glass cabinet where I display all of my treasures and select a different one each day to use for the copious amounts of tea I drink. I’ve compiled a gallery below of photos of tea and my tea cups from over the years, for newer readers you’ll get a chance to look back at photos as far back as 2009.

What can’t you walk away from when you are at a market or in an op shop? I’m sure I have fellow collectors out there!

  1. […] Some super sweet love for blue and white china from Lady Melbourne […]

  2. If you ever break any of your beautiful plates. I can turn them into a mosaic belt buckle, necklace or earrings etc..

  3. Bits of silver. I think I must be part bower bird but I just can’t leave behind napkin rings, small silver dishes, silver spoons (of all shapes and sizes), butter knives, salt and pepper shakers, all sorts of bits. They polish up so beautifully and it is so very civilized to put your sugar cube in your tea with silver tongs and then stir with a silver spoon…..

  4. I collect vintage plates/cups from the 70ยดs – have some square plates in black that i found in a second hand shop this summer ๐Ÿ™‚

I always like seeing yes cups/art on the wall/pos cards something a bit different then the normal thing if that makes sense?

  6. There is something so civilised about having a cup of tea and it becomes even more so when you have it from a lovely tea cup.
