DIY embellished tassel heels

Lady Melbourne's DIY tassel heels

“Hello, my name is Lady Melbourne and I am addicted to Pinterest.”

It’s time I admitted that it’s one social network I spend an inordinate amount of time on each day. I love it. But I’m not alone, oh no, I can tell that there are just as many of you out there on the hunt for the next inspirational outfit, delicious green smoothie recipe or cat meme.

One area that shines on Pinterest is the DIY section, be it for clothing, crafts, home repairs, hair dos- you name it. I happened upon a tutorial to make your own tassel or fringed heels that was easier than I could believe.

So I gave it a go, and while I didn’t photograph the process the heels below are the result. If you’d like to try it yourself, I found the tutorial over on Honestly WTF, and here is the pin.

I bought these heels at Kmart, because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money if the project didn’t work. They only cost me $15 and are extremely uncomfortable. So I’m thinking that I might invest in a better quality pair and try it again.

Which means my Pinterest obsession continues…

What I’m wearing:
Dress: ‘Something about Alice’ swing dress in apricot, St Frock
Heels: I made them, see links above
Arrow necklace: Etsy
Statement necklace & ring: DDG Daily Boutique
Earrings: Etsy
Round necklace pendant: Chelsea antique garage, New York or you can check out this blog post just about the jewellery.
