DDG Daily: Dressing Like A Lady

Have a look at this wonderful post by Kate McKibbin over at DDG Daily.com:

How can you tell when a girl (sorry Lady) is from Melbourne? Well it all starts with the eyes, look deep into then, OK not that deep. It’s actually more the eyelids we are actually concerned with and the amount of black they are lined with. So, black eyeliner… check!

Speaking of black, she’ll be wearing lots of it (or grey or navy or even all three), that’s another giveaway. Again check!

Now you have to also look for a sense of understated glamour with an edge, think more New York, less LA. If that’s a bit vague lets just say that we think a wet-look blazer and lace dress combo makes this statement pretty well. So that’s another clue right there.

Second last thing, it’s a stereotype, but it’s true (particularly in the middle of winter), an absence of tan (faux or otherwise) is another Melbournian trait.

And for the final clue, you’re actually going to have to get up very, very close indeed. So close you can slip your hand into her wallet and take a peek at her licence. A Victorian license gives it away every time!
