There is a shop called Episode on Sydney Rd where I’ve been shopping now for about 10 years. It’s moved in recent times, still on Sydney Rd but downsized to a smaller premises and started to sell new clothes.
When Episode opened its doors all those years ago they sold only imported vintage clothing from Europe and Japan. Over the years I have picked up boucle suits, military anoraks, leather boots from the 70s, dirndls- honestly the most amazing selection of clothing.
So I was naturally a little bit devastated when I popped in the other day to discover they have been bought out and are closing towards the end of August. And anything not sold? Straight to the Salvos.
At the moment the store is full(and when I say full, the racks are heaving) with 70s shirts, leather skirts, the most amazing selection of dresses from the 60s-80s, coats, jackets…..I could go on and on.
It’s being turned into a new chain store as per the new owners, which makes me sad because I’ve truly discovered some of the most amazing clothing at Episode over the years, shopping the world from Sydney Rd Brunswick.
This blouse for example I picked up the other day for $15. One of my students seemed to think it was Romanian (which would fit with the stock being imported from Europe) and a quick Google search confirmed this for me.
Again I am so sad that it’s out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new for Episode, if you get a chance it’s absolutely worth one, last, final look.
What I’m wearing:
Blouse: Episode
Jeans: ASOS
Satchel: eBay. Read the blog post here!
Heels: Sam Edelman

[…] comes in, are far too loud for my personal taste…. until… I saw this pair of jeans on Lady Melbourne (FYI, they are currently on sale too!). I found this pair to be a bit more muted, as the colour is […]
gorgeous bag!
I especially loved that they stocked dirndls, you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face leafing through a rack of ridiculously coloured embroidery there.
You are looking especially lovely, the tonal outfit is fab.
That blouse is beautiful, such a shame the store is closing!

Oh, what a pleasant surprise! That is definitely a traditional hand-embroidered Romanian blouse. (And it’s being confirmed by a long time Romanian follower of your blog.) Great outfit, like always, Lady! xo
